Finding your niche in any market involves a lot of self brainstorming. One of the easiest ways I have found is to start with a general area in which you already have a passion, or at least some have pre-existing knowledge.
It could be a hobby, or your job, or even something you have a qualification in.
I know what you are thinking, Why should I limit myself in this way there are lots of niches out there.
I say showing real knowledge is one way of engaging with your visitor, and showing true passion is another! This will naturally lead to sales from your offers, or opt ins to your list.
Plus if you have passion you are much more likely to keep going and not give up if success does not come instantly.
I know this from personal experience, I have lot of websites out there targeting many niches, (at last count 74,) most are very successful, however the ones I have found the most success with are my make money online niche sites, my cooking or food sites, my learn to fly sites, and my green living sites.
This is because i love this business, and love teaching it to others, i am a keen amateur cook, my main passion is flying and i have my private pilots license and i am fascinated with solar power and solar panels possibly because my degree is in physics.
So you can see, if i am writing articles or website content, I nearly always choose one of these sites. This is because I enjoy it, and I find it a lot easier too. This also leads to more traffic and more success, its a natural process.
Don’t get me wrong you can find success in niches that you have no knowledge in or no passion for. I just think if you are starting out you give yourself more chance by sticking to what you know and love, at least initially.
